Bark is currently seeking new board members!
Bark envisions a future where the forests and people connected to them are resilient to a changing climate, thriving through reciprocity, ecological regeneration, and economies all grounded in environmentally just management of the land.
Bark is celebrating its 25th anniversary as a community institution dedicated to protecting and defending Mt Hood National Forest. We are also in an ongoing process of becoming an anti-racist organization that leads with racial equity and centers environmental justice. To support the organization’s ongoing evolution, we are looking for individuals to serve on the board who care deeply about Mt. Hood National Forest and its surrounding ecosystems and communities, who hold a commitment to dismantling oppression in all its forms, and who are actively advancing social, racial, and environmental justice.
We are open to individuals with various skill sets and experience; we are also happy to support first-time board members in learning about board service and nonprofit governance. In particular, we are looking for folks with legal, nonprofit fundraising, advocacy, and finance experience, and who represent a diversity of lived experiences.
To apply to join Bark’s board, please complete this short application form and a board member will follow up with you. If you have any questions, please contact Rynn Thompson, bark4mthood@gmail.com.
