Syrian Canadian Foundation - In Home English Tutoring Program For Newcomers.
Sign up to become a Cultural Connector through The Syrian Canadian Foundation's English at Home Tutoring Program for Newcomers. This program is run in partnership with the University of Toronto. We need Arabic/non-Arabic speaking English tutor volunteers (2 hrs per week minimum commitment) to work with our (most vulnerable) newcomers across the GTA, Mississauga and Hamilton. These newcomers are not able to attend full time regular ESL classes because of health issues, lack of childcare, or disability. Your participation is an essential tool to the cultural integration of vulnerable newcomers. Participating in this program you will be provided with a letter of reference upon request, and other volunteer appreciation incentives as your job here is priceless.
