I, the undersigned participant, acknowledge and understand that participation in the cleanup event organized by The Gardeners’ Guild at Southeastern Louisiana University (hereinafter referred to as “the Event”) involves certain inherent risks. These risks include, but are not limited to, exposure to poison ivy, poison oak, thick underbrush, uneven terrain, insects, and potential encounters with wild animals or other environmental hazards.

I understand that participation may result in physical injury, allergic reactions, skin irritation, bites or stings, or other personal harm. I certify that I am voluntarily participating in this Event with full knowledge and understanding of the potential risks involved.

By signing this document:

Assumption of Risk
I knowingly and freely assume all risks, both known and unknown, associated with my participation in the Event, even if arising from the negligence of the organizers, and I take full responsibility for my participation.

Release of Liability
I hereby waive, release, and discharge The Gardeners’ Guild, Southeastern Louisiana University, their officers, agents, employees, volunteers, members, affiliates, successors, and assigns (collectively referred to as “Released Parties”) from any and all claims, demands, damages, or causes of action of any kind, including those arising from the negligence of the Released Parties, that may arise from or relate to my participation in the Event.

Indemnification
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any and all liabilities or claims made as a result of my participation in the Event, whether caused by the negligence of the Released Parties or otherwise.

Medical Treatment
I acknowledge that the Released Parties do not provide medical services or coverage and that I am solely responsible for any medical treatment I may require as a result of participation in the Event.

Severability
I agree that if any portion of this waiver is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
