About The Instructor:

Emily Shire is a high school special education teacher by day. She and her mom, Bev, founded The Canasta Connection:  www.canastaconnection.com over 5 years ago to teach Canasta and Mahjong. They teach at the JCC of Greater Boston, Arlington Community Ed, Needham Community Ed, Senior Centers, Country Clubs, and loads of private classes. Emily and Bev break down games and provide visuals, handouts and cheat sheets to make learning fun, social and accessible to all types of learners.

Lesson Dates (must be able to attend both classes)

Saturday May 3rd and Saturday May 10th from 9:30am-12:30pm

Location: Watertown, MA private, pet-free home-must be able to climb one flight of stairs. Address will be sent after registration.

Cost: $140 per person. Must also purchase a 2025 NMJL card (recommend large print-$15). This is not included in the class price.

Payment: Cash or Check. Details sent after registration.

Cost of the class includes a ticket to supervised play at Mahjong and Canasta Social Play at Donut Villa Diner on Monday May 12th from 7-9pm

Details:

Learn how to play American Mahjong in this series of two intensive sessions, followed by a supervised play. All rules and basics will be taught in the Saturday Classes. The supervised play is optional, but included in the ticket price ($18 value).
