What this is: A monthly journaling ritual where women who get it show up, write together, and connect. We're not here to fix anything or have all the answers. We're here because writing in community hits different than writing alone, and sometimes you just need to be in a room with women who understand the hair thing without you having to explain it. It's grounding. It's honest. And yeah, it's also kind of nice to have a regular date with yourself and a group of women who just get it. The circle is free.
Who this is for: If you're tired of carrying this alone, if you're curious about what happens when you write alongside women who understand, or if you just want one space where your hair isn't the elephant in the room because everyone already knows - this is for you. No credentials required. Just show up.
What happens: We start with a short grounding so we can land in the space. I share some prompts to get us started, we write together for a bit, and then we come back to share if we want to. Cameras stay on because there's something real about seeing each other's faces, but sharing what you wrote is always optional.
What we write about: The prompts aren't about hair loss. They're about life - the things we're building, the patterns we're noticing, the versions of ourselves we're becoming. One month we might write about what we're defending that we don't even want anymore. Another month it's about the last time we felt truly free. Or what we'd do if we knew no one was watching. The prompts are designed to help you think differently, not to keep you stuck in the same conversation. Think of this like a book club, except we're writing instead of reading. We're here because we're in the same community, but we're not here to talk about our hair the whole time.
When we meet: Monthly on the second Sunday of the month at 10 a.m. central (11 a.m. eastern, 8 a.m. pacific) on Zoom for 45 minutes.
You'll get a calendar invite by no later than the day before the gathering.
Before you join: Grab a notebook, a pen, a beverage, and show up however you need to. That's it.
Community: This is where women in the Hair Loss Bonita community connect with each other. Some friendships start here. Some women just show up monthly and enjoy the ritual. Both outcomes are great. I wanted to create the thing I needed when I was figuring this out alone - a regular gathering where I could just be myself and know I wasn't the only one thinking about this stuff.
About Me: I'm Yomarie Castellano (call me YoMo). I've lived with androgenic alopecia for thirteen years, and in the beginning of my journey I wish there was a space where women could show up as themselves, connect, and remember we're whole people beyond what's happening with our hair. So I built it.
Privacy: What's shared here stays here. Nothing is recorded. Nothing leaves the room.
I can't wait to write with you.

Frequently Asked Questions
I'm not a good writer. Can I still come? Absolutely. This isn't a writing workshop. You're writing to hear yourself think. Just show up with a pen and paper.
Do I have to share what I write? Nope. Sharing is optional, always.
Will this feel heavy or sad? Nope. Real? Yes. Heavy? No. The prompts are about life and growth, not just what's happening with our hair. And honestly, there's something energizing about writing with women who already understand.
