Organization Cost Estimate for 2020 Census Efforts
The Fiscal Policy Institute is conducting a survey of community-based organizations in New York State. We will be writing a report estimating the cost of adequately funding CBO's to do education, outreach and/or provide assistance on the 2020 Census. The report's findings will help inform the NY Counts 2020 campaign for state funding for community-based groups to do census work.
What is your organization's overall budget?
Are you planning on conducting Census 2020 projects, campaigns, work or outreach?
Our focus is on getting full participation in the census, and our focus is on people who are frequently undercounted. Which of the following groups of historically undercounted populations do you expect to reach out to? Feel free to check more than one.
Parents of children under the age of 5
People with limited English proficiency
People living in tribal lands
Low access to internet connectivity
Which geographic area will you focus on? (city, town, county or counties)
How much funding do you estimate you would need to make your census 2020 outreach plans possible?
With that level of funding, how many people do you think you would be able to assist in responding to and submitting the census survey?
How many times would you anticipate, on average, contacting these people in the six months before the census?
