Employment First puts the focus on integrated and competitive employment as the primary daily activity for adults with disabilities of working age. Arizona’s initiative will focus service delivery systems, funding, training, and supports toward strengthening the capacity of individuals with disabilities to get and maintain a job in their community.
Why attend a Community Forum?
The Community Forums are the next step in a series of activities planned to gather information to assist in the development of a comprehensive Arizona Employment First Strategic Plan. This Strategic Plan will help guide the development of policy and practice that promote employment in typical work settings and enhance individual self-sufficiency and community inclusion.
Who should attend?
People with disabilities, self-advocates, family members, educators and school transition specialists, service providers, agency representatives, community leaders, employers and all interested parties are invited to join the discussion about employment for people with disabilities.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Arizona’s Employment First initiative is supported and sponsored by a consortium of individuals representing the public and private sectors dedicated to promoting employment for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
