Our Fun Friends classroom uses positive, safety‑focused strategies to support all of our students’ spiritual, and social‑emotional growth while keeping everyone safe. The safety of each child in our care is of utmost importance. Please review the summarized strategies below and sign to confirm you have been informed of our classroom behavior policy.
Classroom Behavioral Strategies
Redirect & Relocate: Staff may offer an alternative activity, provide a distraction, or move students to different areas of the classroom to prevent escalation.
Reminder & Reteach: Staff will give brief, calm verbal reminders at eye level about expected behavior, model appropriate actions, and provide a chance for the child to practice the correct behavior.
Remove for a Break: With additional staff support available, a child may be taken for a short break outside the classroom (e.g., walk break or stroller) to regain composure.
Hurtful Behaviors — Time‑Out: For behaviors that cause harm to others (biting, hitting, kicking, pinching, pulling hair, throwing objects at a person), the child will be placed briefly in a supervised time‑out (chair or bean bag) away from peers. A visual timer (2 minutes) will be used; an adult remains nearby for safety and proximity support.
Repeated Hurtful Behavior: If a child engages in hurtful behaviors again after two supervised time‑outs during the same day, the parent/guardian will be contacted for pick‑up.
Notes:
Staff use minimal, developmentally appropriate interventions and prioritize student dignity and safety.
All incidents will be communicated to parents/guardians as appropriate.Classroom Behavioral Strategies
