 Thank you for your interest in speaking at TEDxRaleigh. We’re excited to learn about your idea. Due to the high volume of applications received each year, please carefully review the following important guidelines before applying.  Thank You for Your Interest in Speaking at TEDxRaleigh 2026.

Before You Apply

  • This is a live, in-person event. Speakers must be physically present in Raleigh.

  • We are seeking new ideas worth sharing (research, technology, science, medicine, social impact, innovation, etc.).

  • We do not accept life-coaching topics, book promotion, sales pitches, political content, or divisive stances.

  • Talks must be 10 minutes or less and focus on the idea—not the speaker.

  • Speakers may not sell products or self-promote from the stage.

  • A written script and transcript are required.

  • All research, data, and statistics must include credible references.

  • Speakers must meet with two TEDxRaleigh speech coaches (virtual).

  • Timely email communication is required. Failure to respond may result in disqualification—even after acceptance.

  • Priority is given to Raleigh-area residents.

  • Speakers are responsible for their own travel, lodging, and meals.

  • All deadlines must be strictly observed.

Selection Process:Applications are now open. Our team will review submissions and shortlist approximately 20 potential speakers.


Finalists will be asked to: Submit a full script & provide a 2-minute video pitch (phone video is acceptable)

Helpful Guidance
TEDx talks are not motivational speeches or Toastmasters-style presentations. They follow a distinct format and editorial standard required for publication on the TED platform.

  To ensure the highest quality of content, TEDxRaleigh follows a structured timeline that includes deadlines for scripts, fact-checking, presentations, and required resources. Selected speakers are expected to adhere to all deadlines and procedures. Failure to meet these requirements may result in disqualification. If unforeseen circumstances arise, speakers must proactively communicate with the TEDxRaleigh team to request and receive approval for any schedule adjustments.   *
