Service is work and/or actions that make a difference in people’s lives. They range from simple projects such as running an errand for a neighbor or cutting the grass for a grandparent, to complex projects such as working for a state law to create stronger penalties against graffiti. Service projects are not those activities which you are already expected to do such as cleaning a room at home.  Students in grades K-6 are required to complete service hours on their own each school year in addition to those hours earned with their class.  Please log all hours by May 15.
The number of service hours per year are:
Grade K – 1 hour
Grade 1 – 2 hours
Grade 2 – 4 hours
Grade 3 – 6 hours
Grade 4 – 8 hours
Grade 5 – 10 hours
Grade 6 – 12 hours
