Shadowing is a great option for departments that are not able to mentor students for extended periods of time. If you are interested in hosting a SSJP student for one day for a shadowing or observation opportunity, please complete the form below. Our students have very diverse interests and are looking for new enrichment opportunities within the hospital. After an initial meeting, we will add you as a shadowing/observation site that is available for SSJP students.
Generally students are available starting at 3pm on school days. During school vacations, students are available during the whole work day. SSJP students cannot be on site on weekends or past 8pm. SSJP students are 10th, 11th and 12th graders who are fully onboarded as Brigham employees with Brigham IDs.
Feel free to share this form with colleagues who may be interested!

Youth Programs, through the Summer Science Academy, Project TEACH and SSJP High School and SSJP Summer College programs, works on four levels to address health inequities by: (a) contributing to educational enrichment for young people through clinical, public health and health equity seminars as well as tutoring; (b) supporting employment and training opportunities in communities that have experienced historical disinvestment and structural racism; (c) encouraging youth driven programming in youth-led groups such as the SSJP Student Committee, Youth Equity Group and Mental Health Mondays and (d) increasing the diversity of the healthcare workforce and contributing to building a diverse workforce that is reflective of Mass General Brigham patients and communities.
