2026 Eastside Cafe Space Rental Form

Hello!

Thank you for your interest in reserving the Eastside Café for your future event. We request that before you make a reservation that you read our Purpose and Vision Statement and make sure that it aligns with your proposed project. Please help us in submitting your proposal at least 2-3 weeks in advanced as we have a protocol to make approvals. THANK YOU!

Our ESC Purpose and Vision statement:

The Eastside Café is a group of Zapatista inspired El Sereno residents that co-facilitate a multi-disciplinary autonomous space. We are committed to supporting an active citizenry and renewed communal identity that is continuously engaged in planning for the future of our community through self-determination, education, cultural arts, and community dialogue.  We strive to build a citywide multiethnic autonomous network to represent the initial phase of a long-term communal development plan by rebuilding, reconstructing, and reclaiming our communities in creating sustainable projects and working with autonomous collectives by offering a space for empowerment and support.

Event Proposal/ Please tell us about your event and what its for ie. Organizer with Inner City Struggle, proposal to have a workshop on Immigrant vendor rights (This is required to get approval from our core committee)
Proposed Date and time frame, please be specific, ie. Sat, March 25th, 4-7pm (This is required to get approval from our core committee)

1.The Eastside Cafe and or 2. The Caracol space, next to the ESC.

ESC is a community cultural, 3rd space supported by its members and collectives. Currently, we pay $4600k per month for our mortgage (Yes, the community will soon own the building) and at most times have only raised less that half of $4k with the collectives that we house.

We have per hour rates, but we can work with negotiate if the proposal addresses community needs and if it is in alignment with the purpose statement of ESC followed by a final committee approval.

If your event is public, by reserving the ESC space, you have agreed to help us document with videos and photographs of the event and share it with the ESC social media.
By reserving the space, your organization has agreed to meet before the event for an orientation to discuss the rental agreement and a possible walkthrough
By reserving ESC space, your organization has agreed to do a light-deep clean after the event.  We can discuss further during our orientation.
By reserving the space, please help us by introducing the Eastside Cafe as we're in fundraising mode to purchase the building and on our way to becoming community owners and land guardians. Please direct them to our Venmo @eastsidecafe and please leave a nice review on Yelp or google business.
