Svalbard, a Norwegian archipelago only 600 miles from the North Pole, is an area of amazing beauty. Snow capped mountains, magnificent fjords, and massive glaciers provide stunning scenery unlike any other part of the world--except Antarctica. Add to that frequent sightings of polar bears, reindeer, walruses, seals, puffins, and terns; as well as cliffs with thousands of auks, guillemots and kittiwakes; and you end up with an unforgettable experience. Come see photographs and hear story of a trip that Ashok made to this remote area in the Arctic. He is an award-winning photographer who has previously shared his travel experience in Ladakh with the AMC Boston Slideshow Series.

Potluck Info:
If you wish to participate in the potluck, homemade dishes are welcome, store bought goodies & takeout are equally welcome:) Plates, bowls, cups, cutlery, napkins and drink pitchers will be supplied. The auditorium has a kitchen if you need to do any re-warming or prep (w/stovetop, oven, microwave, sink & fridge). Please bring your own cooking pots if needed for stovetop.

Take the MBTA Subway Red or Green Lines, or the # 43 or #55 bus, to Park Street Station. Walk through the Boston Common uphill towards the State House on Beacon St. To the left of the State House is Joy St; follow Joy St uphill to #4 Joy St, AMC Cabot Auditorium Building (brownstone) on the left hand side. Look for the AMC Slideshow signs on the door and fence.

Parking:
Nearby parking is available at the Boston Common Garage, located underneath the Boston Common. Access is off Charles St,between the Public Garden and the Boston Common. We offer discount parking passes at the show ($9). You save 50%.
