Justification: The perceptions and results to the next questions may be skewed but still useful depending on whether they are local, therefore more likely to have a deeper understanding about the past and perhaps more valuable, or further afield who may think more economically about the area with (maybe) less thought for the local people, but may have other opinions that are noteworthy.

Justification: An insight into the groups of people using the area at a given time or more generally is good as I will be able to see the real statistics about who is using it. The land use survey/goad maps will help with understanding why these people are using it.

Justification: By collecting this data, I can see what is the high-level reason that actually brings people to AS, independent of secondary data. I will also aim to carry out this research over a few days (using opportunistic sampling of as many people as possible) including at different times to attempt to include as wide of a range of possibilities as possible.

Justification: Repeatedly coming back to an area is important for its businesses, which support residents and investment in the area, as well as its overall health. A high amount of people who rarely or occasionally visit the would show that there are a lack of activities and reason to be in the area, as opposed to being in other areas (bonus followup question?) which have more of a range and diversity of facilities. (Higher footfall throughout the period may reduce antisocial behaviour and crime, as well as supporting business etc)

Justification: SImilar to previous. Answers could be because of convenience, out of loyalty (particularly the longer time periods on the spectrum), or maybe just because it's there. Will help with last question.

An insight into the perceptions of the built environment  (TODO 12/07/2023 explain more here)

Justification: A more detailed view as to whether people using the space can actually find and do the things that it should be designed for. There may be more variation between different age groups and also whether the participant is visiting or not. (TODO 12/07/2023 explain more here)

Justification: Shows urgency and support between people surveyed about how much (to what extent) the area needs redeveloping. Expecting general differences between participants who are local vs visiting

Collecting what the person may say about the previous question - expecting something like "not just any proposed redevelopment but it should include X... Y..."

Justification: Redevelopments of an area do not necessarily need to involve the complete demolition and rebuilding, depending on how "bad" the area is. With results being high, this can show that there are critical issues and lack of support & optimism from residents and the general public, rather than lower scores which would suggest that relatively minor changes can be made to improve the space

This will be turned into a word cloud using the methodology in the precious question.

Justification: People, particularly locals, may have lived in the area for a long time, and may have different memories compared to more recent residents or visitors. This will allow me to capture a different pool of answers, as well as potentially getting from people the things they liked the most (implicitly, without directly asking for that) about AS in the past, to better understand what made it good for them, and then compare this to the facilities offered in the new/previous proposed planning permission to see if it aligns with the residents' ideas and therefore explaining the extent to which the redevelopment is justified.
