Thank you for your interest in participating in QPR Suicide Prevention training taking place on April 27th at 10am in the Old Vail Middle School library located at 13299 E Colossal Cave Rd, Vail, AZ 85641.
QPR stands for Question, Persuade, Refer and much like CPR or the Heimlich maneuver, the fundamentals of QPR are easily learned to help save a life. Participants will learn how to recognize the warning signs and clues of people experiencing a mental health emergency, discuss the importance of hope and learn about the resources within our community that offer assistance.
QPR is what the Vail School District uses to train all staff as well our high school students in suicide prevention and awareness. As part of our suicide prevention initiatives we are inviting parents, guardians and the community to participate in this training. Our hope is that by spreading a broader awareness net, we can work together to create a community where we are all aware of the signs of suicide and have the knowledge and skills on how to intervene. Thereby, creating a suicide safer community.
To register for this training, please complete the form below. Any questions please reach out to Amanda Cook at cookam@vailschooldistrict.org.
Thank you,
Amanda Cook
