Training Programme on Research Methodology
Conducting research is essential to practice the evidence based medicine. Research Methods are the tools and techniques for conducting research. This training programme is designed to educate the participants on theoretical concepts and improve the hands on skills of research methods.

Training programme in Research Methodology is offered under by Education, Training and Research Unit of Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka. This training course has designed as a blended programme including skills development in-class workshops and online distance learning.

Course content and method of teaching and evaluation
The training programme has developed by a team of experts in research methods and deliver in English Medium. This training course will cover the essential topics to design a research. Training programme include eight modules and three contact workshops. Each module need to complete distantly and trainees need to attend three compulsory workshops. Workshops are conducted to enhance the hands-on skills need to achieve in the research methods. Each module is expected to complete over a week and proceed to the next. At the end of each module, there will be a set of questions to assess the competency of the module. Participants need to complete all modules and take the post test for certification. Successful candidates will be awarded a certificate from the Education, Training and Research unit of Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka.
Duration
Training programs will be delivered in distance education mode over 8 weeks with three face to face one day workshops. Participants are expected to spend over 3-4 hours per week for studying each module.
Target audience
Medical, para-medical and administrative staff of the Sri Lankan government institutions under the Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka.

Course fee
The entire programme including access to distance education portal and workshops will be free of charge for employees of the Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka.
How to apply and register
1. Please fill this online form to register. Limited number of seats are available in the first batch. An invitation letter will be sent through the relevant head of the institutions for selected participants.

2. Duty leave shall be granted to the selected health care professionals attending the workshops. It is compulsory to attend all three workshops
