In an effort to keep our students safe, all students will be required to apply for a permit if they are planning on riding a bike to school and parking it on campus. This permitting process will help ensure that our students are educated on the skills they will need to bike safely to and from school. There is no cost for the bicycle permit, however bicycle permits will be required in order to bring a bike or eBike onto school grounds. These permits are only valid for the school year during which they were issued, meaning students must complete an online application and attend a EUSD approved Bike / eBike Safety Presentation at the beginning of each school year that they wish to ride a bike or eBike to and from school.
Complete the following items to receive your bicycle permit ID tag:
1. Attend an EUSD approved Bike / eBike Safety Presentation. EUSD currently partners with the Carlsbad Police Department and the San Diego Bicycle Coalition for safety training opportunities. In addition to a district sponsored assembly put on by the San Diego Bike Coalition at each school site, please check our website for a list of all upcoming free presentation's put on by our partnering organizations. LCH had its assembly on 8/20/25 so all students present that day are considered to have attended the safety training.
2. Complete this online bicycle permit application form
Bicycle permit ID tags will be issued at each individual school site in the front office. ID tags should be placed on a visible area on your Bike or eBike and not be removed. If your permit is lost or stolen, report to the school office for a potential replacement.
