General Emergency Services Awards

Please choose the appropriate fire service award

John Hall Medal of Honor - May be awarded for an act of heroism and bravery, above and beyond the call of duty, that was taken while under extreme risk and performed under hazardous conditions (on or off duty).

Citizen Lifesaving Award - May be awarded to a Good Samaritan outside the Emergency Services family who has been involved in a lifesaving effort at an emergency scene before the arrival of Emergency Services personnel, and/or who has provided extraordinary assistance to Emergency Services personnel in a lifesaving effort.

Customer Service Award -This annual award recognizes meritorious actions that enhance the public image the profession through customer service acts or improves the way customer service is provided in Emergency Services. The nominee should provide outstanding contribution to his/her community on or off duty, significantly above what is expected for an involved member of the community.

Official Letter of Commendation - May be presented to any member of a Public Safety agency for above average performance that does not meet the requirements of another award, however, is noteworthy enough to be officially recognized.

Fire Service Awards

Please choose the appropriate fire service award

Firefighter of the Year -The Firefighter of the Year award shall be awarded to volunteer or career personnel holding at least the rank of Firefighter or Firefighter/Paramedic that has best exemplified the standards of excellence and service to the Department and/or community, subscribed to by the County of Bladen.

Fire Chief of the Year - The Fire Chief of the Year award shall be awarded to volunteer or career personnel holding at least the rank of Assistant Chief that has best exemplified the standards of leadership and service to the Department and/or community, subscribed to by the County of Bladen.

Official Letter of Commendation - May be presented to any member of the Fire Department for above average performance that does not meet the requirements of another award, however, is noteworthy enough to be officially recognized

Emergency Medical Service Awards

Please choose the appropriate EMS service award

Paramedic of the Year Award - The Paramedic of the Year award shall be awarded to the employee holding the rank ofParamedic, either paid or volunteer that hasbest exemplified the standards of excellence and service to theDepartment and/or community, subscribed to by the County of Bladen

EMT of the Year Award - The EMT of the Year award shall be awarded to the employee holding the rank ofEMT-B or EMT-I that has best exemplified the standards of excellence and service to the Department and/or community, subscribed to by the County of Bladen

EMS Volunteer of the Year - The EMS Volunteer of the Year award shall be awarded to the volunteer EMS member holding at least the rank of EMT-B that has best exemplified the standards of excellence and service to the Department and/or community, subscribed to by the County of Bladen.
