Data Access and/or Deletion Request Form
Please use this form to access research data from the research data archive, Arkivum. This could be a request to access data to execute data protection functions, or where the data rights holder needs to exercise rights such as reuse.
Alternatively, please use this form if you have a small data set deposited and wish to remove/delete it. Access and deletion can also be achieved via different routes as shown below. Note: deletions will always follow an approval process through the Arkivum system. All data has a data guardian and you will need the guardian to approve.
A researcher, who has direct access to their datapool, can delete their information through logging into the system and identifying what needs to be deleted. This will then follow a workflow and an approval process to allow deletion or not.
For researchers who have small datasets, less than 500GB, the request to access and/or delete will go to the Research Data Manager/Scholarly Support who will either make the data available or carry out the deletion and provide a record.

When data is stored in Arkivum, it needs to have a by a data guardian. The data guardian is responsible for managing who has access to the data, ensuring that the data is being used in accordance with Oxford Brookes University policies, and ensuring that there is always a named person in a role who has the right to access the data. Having a data guardian in place is important because it prevents a situation where data is orphaned and there is no clear ownership or right to access it. Therefore, having a data guardian is a precondition for placing data in Arkivum.
