CURTIS Week Application 2023
PROGRAM INFORMATION

C.U.R.T.I.S. Week (Community Understanding and Reflection Through Inner City Service)

Tuesday, January 10 - Saturday, January 14, 2023

The Offices of Volunteer Programs and Service Learning and Campus Ministry will host the annual CURTIS Week experience. This program is named for the founder of Sacred Heart University, Bishop Walter Curtis and explores the theme of diversity in the context of community service and urban immersion.

CURTIS Week gives students an opportunity to grow and learn while volunteering alongside Bridgeport community members. Students will explore issues such as poverty, discrimination and social justice. Each day, students will serve in different Bridgeport-based schools, nonprofits, and social service agencies. In the evening, the group will participate in interfaith services and engage in discussions and reflections with our Buddhist, Muslim, Protestant, Jewish and Catholic chaplains.

HOW TO APPLY

CURTIS Week does not require any prior service experience. It does call for a willingness to live and work with others, and to maintain an open mind. CURTIS Week is about building relationships through dialogue and communication.

Please complete the below application to be considered for the CURTIS Week program. Preference will be given to applicants who can commit to the entire program.

APPLICATIONS DUE NOVEMBER 4
