Linda Brown was the daughter of two educators and a teacher herself before staying home to raise her three children. She was actively involved in her children's schools and extracurricular activities, and had an integral role in shaping the lives of some of their friends. She never missed an opportunity to help someone, saw the best in everyone, and never met a stranger. She had an infectious laugh and a joyful spirit. She was killed by a drunk driver in 1995 and is deeply missed by many.
Her family offers a scholarship in their hometown to honor her, and would like to extend this to a LTISD student, as one of her children is a member of the Lake Travis community. It is intended to honor her love of education and fine arts. The ideal candidate would be someone pursuing a career that inspires or brings joy to others.
