Assume you do not have OA mandates. Indicate the range of the *highest* APC, in US dollars, that you would typically be willing to pay from your research funds in order to publish your ISWC research paper under OA, given the alternative of publishing without paying APCs and without OA.

Consider the following three potential publishers for ISWC. All three publishers offer DOIs and indexing in DBLP & Scopus. The choice of publisher should not directly affect ISWC's CORE rating. Assume that each publisher is already used by conferences of a similar reputation to ISWC, or higher.

Springer (LNCS) offers authors two options. The first option is to publish under Closed Access (paywalled after one year) and without author fees, allowing preprints to be published on the Web by the author. The second option is to publish under Open Access paying ~US$650 in author fees. Springer offers printed proceedings.

ACM (ICPS) offers authors two options. The first option is to publish under Closed Access (paywalled after one year) and without author fees, allowing preprints to be published on the Web by the author. The second option is to publish under Open Access paying ~US$700-1,000 in author fees. ACM offers online-only proceedings. In the short term, ACM OPEN will move towards a new model where all ACM papers are published under Open Access, charging fees to institutions. These fees are tiered based on the number of publications, equating to about US$1,000 per ACM publication.

Dagstuhl Publishing (LIPIcs) requires that all papers be published under Open Access, charging EUR€60 in author fees per paper. Dagstuhl Publishing offers online-only proceedings.

Based on these publishers, please indicate your agreement with the following, considering financial concerns, how publications are valued for you, etc.
