Have you met our new friend, Sunny? 
Ray can brighten up an event, but he is also complicated to transport. For summer 2025, we may be requiring sponsors to pick Ray up if they would like him to attend their event. 

We would encourage you to check out these affordable costumes for Ray's friend, Sunny! Sunny has fans inside to keep you cool during the summer heat.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE RAY TO ATTEND YOUR EVENT, PLEASE READ: Procedures & Protocols for Appearances
GENERAL POLICIES:
  • NCDPI reserves the right to refuse any appearance, and all requests will be left to their discretion.
  • A MINIMUM TWO-WEEK notice is required.
  • TWO HOURS is the maximum time limit.
  • For outdoor events, Ray is required to take a 10-minute break every 20 minutes, and/or as needed.
  • Ray will always appear with at least one helper. Please provide VERY specific, non-performative expectations, i.e. a meet and greet, photos with event guests, teaching a clinic, or handing out event giveaways, etc.
  • Ray and helper(s) will arrive 15 minutes prior to his/her start time in order to change into costume.
  • Ray and helpers require a PRIVATE changing room away from guests and a place where the mascot belongings can be stored during the event. Bathrooms are NOT acceptable. Ray's dimensions are 5' long x 5' wide x 2' thick.
  • Water MUST be provided to Ray and helpers at events.
  • Appropriate parking arrangements must be available for Ray and helpers.
  • If alcohol is being served, Ray must be stationed away from where it is being served. Ray and helper(s) are instructed to leave immediately if guests behave inappropriately.
  • Additional details, procedures, or protocols may be shared with you ahead of your event.
If you would like Ray to attend, list VERY specific expectations for Ray, i.e. a meet and greet, photos with guests, teaching a clinic, or handing out giveaways, etc. 
If Ray is attending your event, how long would you like Ray at your event? 

Note that Ray can only be in costume for 10 minute increments at outdoor events and 20 minute increments at indoor events and can make multiple appearances.
