2024 Barracudas Jr. Coach Application
Junior Coaches are an important part of our team’s success over the summer! We need responsible, hard working role models to help our team grow their swimming skills this summer. This is an important job and should be taken very seriously! This is a volunteer position.

To apply:
-You must be a rising 9th grader or above for the 2024-25 school year
-Must have been on the Potomac Crossing Barracudas (PCB) for two years prior to applying
-Must be able to attend at least 3 days of practice per week
-Must have swimming experience and be proficient in all four strokes
-Must be willing to participate in an interview

Submitting an application does not guarantee you will be chosen as a Jr. Coach.

Do you agree to recognize the swimmers’ limitations; emphasize fundamentals of each stroke; demonstrate skills at the request of the coaches; provide encouraging and constructive feedback? *
Do you agree to arrive at least 10 minutes before each practice; arrive at least 15-20 minutes before each meet warm up; help with practice set up; help with deck clean up; communicate with coaches; be familiar with drills, fundamental skills, and all strokes; assist with keeping swimmers engaged and alert during practice; help line swimmers up for events and make sure they pay attention at meets; stay in swimming area during meets to set example for younger swimmers? *
Acknowledge you have read this: This year, we will be using an electronic sign up form to assign Jr. Coaches to practices. You will sign up for as many practices as you can (at least 3 days per week) unless previously discussed with the Assistant Coach (ex. Vacation, illness, etc.) After not attending 3 practice days per week for two consecutive weeks, you may be removed from the Jr. Coach. *
