Who Do You Think, should receive a 'mud painting'?
In a time of great ecological change, I am looking to invite 25 thinkers into an unconventional collaboration. I am offering to gift one of my artworks, a mud painting (15”x17”x1” plexiglass vessel filled with mud). The native microbes living in the mud sample will photosynthesize pigments; over time, these thinkers will witness evolving pigmentation in this living landscape. If they accept my offer, I hope they will share a response (any form/format) 6-24 months after a mud painting has been installed. The response could be anything (a diagram, an equation, a cartoon, a reference, a collage, a poem, a legal brief, an erasure, a sculpture, a fiction, a recording, a score, a reflection, an editorial, some scribbled notes, an hypothesis, a theory)!

This project aims to capture a cross-section of contemporary thought about life in a finite landscape of soil, water, & sunlight. 

So now I'm asking YOU - who do you think I should invite? Have at it - no holds barred. I'll write to ANYONE if I can find a suitable address.

(For reference, I'm courting an Ayn Rand followers for this gRift - I wish to challenge problematic logic as well as celebrate the logic of people that have changed the way we imagine and participate in this world). Please don't be inhibited by WHO to invite - just choose some juicy people who will engage with whatever truth they think happens INSIDE the mud! This is meant to be fun! Speculative! Opening up a way to think together across cultural or physical boundaries about what it means to be a life on a finite planet!
