Where: Calvert Cliffs State Park
Who: Open to all scouts and parents
When: 5:30pm Friday, May 27th - 1:00pm Sunday, May 29th
What:
Calvert Cliffs State Park features a sandy beach, unique fossils, recycled tire playground, fishing, a freshwater and tidal marshland (with Beavers) and 13 miles of hiking trails located in Calvert County MD. The Calvert Cliffs' beach area is a sandy quarter mile stretch located on the Chesapeake Bay. Fossil hunting, swimming, sunbathing and an open play space are common reasons people visit the beach.
Cost: $20 per person for camping and food.
Carpool riders should also plan on contributing for gas to their driver.
Adult volunteer help needed:
Trailer tow vehicle
Adult advisors to help with trip organization
Adults trained in BSA safe swim defence (at least one more)
Schedule
Friday, May 27:
Meet at TMES at 5:30pm, pack trailer and vehicles
Depart TMES 6:00pm, Arrive at camp at approx 8:00pm (depending on traffic)
Saturday May 28th: (tentative schedule)
7:00am: Wake
7:15 - 8:30am Breakfast and cleanup followed by brief flag ceremony and announcements
9:00am Morning Activity: Fossil hunting, swimming and general beach fun
12:00pm-1:00pm Lunch at beach
1:00 - 3:30pm Nature hike and wildlife exploration.
4:00pm Camptime
5:00 - 7:00pm Dinner and cleanup
7:00pm Sunset hike to beach or campfire time
10:00pm lights out
Sunday, May 28th:
7:00am Wake
7:15 - 8:30am Breakfast and camp cleanup
8:30am A scout is reverent
8:45 - 10:00 optional beach time (TBD)
10:30am Depart for home
12:30pm Arrive TMES
Once you sign up for a trip, your fee is required and expected whether you attend or not. Due to food planning and registration committed fees refunds are not possible.
