Beach Forest Camp offers children and families the opportunity to explore the amazing marine conservation site in Calatagan, Batangas and learn about mangroves, corals, seagrass, and other marine life.
From gleaning during low tide, making beach crafts and kayaking among the mangroves, to learning about salt making; you'll find plenty of activities for everyone! Plus, families can get to spend a night on their tents and listen to a story around the campfire.
Tsiking Dagat (Little Marine Explorers) will experience learning in a floating classroom called Balyena. It is a modern bamboo raft with cooking and dining area, lounge space to rest, and open corners for accessible snorkeling and kayaking. Its upper deck is perfect to hang hammocks and roll mats for quiet time and meditation. Balyena is a vessel that will bring every Tsikiting Dagat closer to the marine ecosystems that is happily growing in Calatagan.
๐๐ผ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป: Calatagan Floating House, Calatagan, Batangas
The municipality of Calatagan has been prominent for its white sand beaches and coastal ecotourism programs. Community-based marine protected area and nature park management have long been implemented in the locality and supported by different government and private agencies. To sustain the protection and conservation efforts of Bantay Dagat (Fish Warden) which they voluntarily do by heart, Calatagan Floating House was born, an ecotourism project that is a source of livelihood for their families. It serves as an alternative bed and breakfast space for visitors, and a venue to learn about marine ecosystems and conservation.ย
