Ray Porter Scholarship
The Ray Porter Foster Care Scholarship seeks to support students matriculating to or attending a 2-year, 4-year, or technical college who have been placed, aged out of the foster care system, or adopted in order to help mitigate the financial barriers to future success. The Ray Porter Scholarship provides a one-time $1000 scholarship toward any applicable expenses of higher education. Deadline to submit this application is April 15, 2024

Eligibility Requirements:
* Enrolled or plan to enroll in an accredited 2-year, 4-year, or technical college
* Have been placed in foster care or adopted at any point during school-aged years
*Have maintained at least a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale

Application Instructions:
*Complete this google form and all required essay questions.
*Essay responses should be 500 words or less
* An unofficial transcript should be sent electronically to Ohiogapclosers@gmail.com by the April 15th deadline.
*A letter, with official school letterhead, should be sent from a guidance counselor, principal, or relevant agency that confirms eligibility to Ohiogapclosers@gmail.com with the name of the student as the subject header.
