Grammar School Focus
Homeroom Mom
Year long, with heavy workload in August. Attend August Homeroom Mom meeting, manage classroom signup sheets, update Google docs, help teacher coordinate parent volunteers, send monthly email reminders to parents. Please select ANY grades in which you are willing to serve.
Library Volunteer
Throughout the year. Not specific class based, the Library Volunteer helps check books in/out and shelve books.
Reading Round Up
Assist chairs to organize and promote a "read-a-thon" in February/March to raise funds for our school library.
Reading Round Up Rodeo
Assist chairs with planning and execution of rodeo activities. Event in March.
Grandparents Day
Assist chairs with planning and execution of an annual event to honor Regents grandparents. Event in April.
Memory Book
End of year. Collect photos from events throughout the year for your class and compile a photo memory book to present to your child's teacher.
School of Logic Focus
Camp Travis
September. Assist SOL Rep with needs to execute the 7th and 8th grade Camp Travis event. Chaperone; provide snacks; help organize event materials; check in students for departure on day of event.
Textbook Check In
Last weel of school. Assist faculty and staff in return/checkin of textbooks from students.
School of Rhetoric Focus
College Ambassador
Throughout the year. Host college representatives on campus, participate in special events for the college office, help with Pie Day in November.
SOR Service
Throughout the year. Assist or drive to SOR service projects, including Side by Side Kids at Oak Hill Elementary (weekly carpool needs immediately after school) and coordination or driving for Mobile Loaves & Fishes (2nd Thursday of each month), as well as new opportunities. Review service hour entries and coordinate service awards (spring). Support student leaders for a specific non-profit.
Textbook Distribution
August. Assist faculty and staff in distribution of textbooks to students.
Fall Retreat
September. Assist Chair with one day event: provide snacks, help organize event materials, check in students. Some parents are needed to chaperone.
Junior Class Fundraiser
October & November. Assist SOR admins with logistics of Junior giftwrap sales.
Senior Thesis Hospitality
April & May. Organize and provide support to the senior teachers and students prior to and during the thesis presentations.
Baccalaureate & Commencement Committee
February-May. Assist chair with planning and execution of graduation weekend events.
Textbook Check In
Last weel of school. Assist faculty and staff in return/checkin of textbooks from students.
Dads Only
Dads' Curbside Service
One or two semesters. Join the Fall and/or Spring team, serving one morning each week. Assist with morning drop-off and parking, serving our community by keeping drop-off running safely and efficiently.
Dads' Prayer
Weekly. Gather with other Regents dads for fellowship and study in the Word, Thursday evenings and/or Friday mornings.
Dads' Boot Camp
September. Help organize and execute dads' gathering.
Fine Arts Focus
Band Helper
May include assistance with performances and competitions; chaperone field trips.
Orchestra Helper
May include assistance with performances and competitions; chaperone field trips.
Choir Helper
May include assistance with performances and competitions; chaperone field trips.
Dance Helper
May include assistance with performances and competitions; chaperone field trips; sewing projects; hair and make up.
Drama Helper
May include assistance with performances; sewing projects; light construction and prop building; hair and make up.
Visual Art Helper
May include Art displays in school buildings; preparation for competitions; chaperone/drive for field trips.
Miscellaneous Fine Arts Helper
May include assistance with various Fine Arts events throughout the year. All grades. All disciplines.
Christmas Festival of Fine Arts
December. Assist chairs with planning and execution of our annual event celebrating the arts and ushering in the Christmas season.
Athletics Focus
By sports season, lead or assist coaching staff for various Regents teams.
Team Mom
Work with the coach in communicating schedules, expectations, and responsibilities to both parents and players.
Concessions Manager - Fall
Mid-August through early November; oversee concessions and coordinate volunteers.
Concessions Manager - Winter/Spring
CONCESSIONS MANAGER (winter/spring season) November through May; oversee concessions and coordinate volunteers.
By sport season. Record games for coaches to use in teaching, training, and improvement.
Science and Nature Center Focus
RPC Science and Nature Center
Year 'round. Assist RSNC Staff in coordinating events and work days at the Nature Center. Assist with greenery online sales (no pickup or distribution; greenery shipped directly to homes). Promote RSNC activities.
Help with the Gardens
Occasional. Assist RSNC Staff with planting, weeding, pond care, and various projects at the garden.
Regents 4-H Club
Work with students on various projects of their choosing, including quilts, art projects, cooking, and raising rabbits and other small farm animals to prepare for the Travis County Youth Fair. Projects range from very short term (2-3 weeks) to long term (full academic year).
School-Wide Focus
Year-Long Events/Interests
Faculty/Staff Retreat
Assist administration and event chair with collecting raffle prizes, donating or assembling items, as well as limited day of volunteer shifts. Event in early August.
Moms' Prayer
Weekly. Join other moms in prayer on Monday mornings AND/OR receive a weekly email with prayer attribute and requests for the school community.
Gift of Grace
Throughout the year, as needed. Serve other Regents families by providing a meal, or helping out in other ways, during a time of great need in their lives.
Uniform Closet
As needed. Assist Chair with organization of the Uniform Closet, and "Shop the Uniform Closet" events in August and January.
Lost & Found
Monthly or as needed. Assist Chair with organization of Lost & Found
Refreshments for Board Meetings
1st Thursday of each month. Provide a light snack and dinner AND/OR assist Chair with set-up, serving, and clean-up for a Thursday evening Board Meeting.
Cafe Regents Volunteer
Monthly, 10:50-12:50. Commit one day per month to provide hospitality in the cafeteria, working alongside paid catering staff. Attend food handlers' training in August (approx. 2 hours).
Regents Armory Store
Periodic weekday afternoons. Serve for a 1.5-2 hour shift assisting customers in the store on periodic weekday afternoons.
Gifts of Hospitality
New Family Host
Throughout the year. Help welcome and acclimate a new family to the Regents community throughout their first year.
Admissions Hospitality
Throughout the year. Assist with set-up, serving, and clean-up at Admissions events, including New Family Orientation, Open House, etc.
Home Available for Events
Throughout the year. Share your home for RPC functions, including Welcome Coffee, Homeroom Mom Huddles, Athletics and Fine Arts Events, etc.
Baking for Events
Throughout the year. As you are available, prepare food for special events (eg, Grandparents' Day, Admissions Open House, etc.)
Buying for Events
Throughout the year. As you are able, purchase items for special events (eg, bottled water, soft drinks, sandwiches, etc.)
Teacher Luncheons
Fall, Winter, Spring. Assist with luncheons during the school year by providing food or drinks AND/OR assist with set-up, serving, clean-up.
Regents Alumni Network
Throughout the year. Assist Regents Alumni Network (RAN) Volunteer Chair with needs arising from Homecoming, Alumni Christmas Cards, Gala, Regents Cup, and on campus events.
Event Focus
Fall Family Social
September. Assist Chair with planning and execution of this Friday afternoon, school-wide event before our first home football game.
Picture Day Volunteer
September. Assist students, teachers, and photographer as needed on picture day.
Non-Medical Vision-Hearing-Scoliosis Screening Helper
September. Organize children and paperwork; assist school Nurse by escorting children to testing location. Nurses conduct all tests; this is administrative and chaperone help.
PSAT Test Monitor
October. Monitor halls during PSAT for School of Rhetoric students. Monitors must not have students taking the PSAT this year.
Moms for Moms
February. Help organize and develop this Saturday morning event for moms across all grades at Regents.
ACCS Accreditation Visit
Fall. Assist staff coordinating notes, hospitality, and other needs for visiting reviewers.
Regents Cup
April. Work from January-April on a committee to promote, organize, and run an annual fundraiser for Fine Arts and Athletics.
AP Test Proctor/Monitor
May. Proctor or monitor an AP exam for School of Rhetoric students. Proctors must not have students taking any AP exams this year.
End of Year Faculty & Staff Appreciation Breakfast
May. Assist with executing a "Thank You" breakfast for faculty and staff, on campus, celebrating the end of the academic year.
