To rise above the competition, entrants will create an outfit (that can be worn - you'll have a model showcasing your design!) made entirely of second-hand materials. All entrants will need to provide their own model to wear their outfit for the runway. Each entry must consist of at least one aspect* from both categories as seen below:
Category 1) Up-cycle:
• Items must be purchased from a thrift store (Goodwill, His House Thrift Store, etc.)
• Purchase must be less than $15 (must present receipt/proof of purchase)
ONCE YOUR ITEMS HAVE BEEN PURCHASED, A PHOTO MUST BE SENT TO BOWHITE@EMAIL.SC.EDU FOR "BEFORE AND AFTER" DOCUMENTATION. PLEASE SEND A PHOTO OF YOUR ITEMS PRIOR TO DESGINING YOUR OUTFIT!
Category 2) Recycle:
• Anything that can be thrown away (trash bags, cardboard, bottle caps, food wrappers, candy wrappers, plastics, etc.)
*Keep it modest, please! If using glue to design an outfit, ensure no undergarments can be seen when worn. Nothing too tight, transparent, or exposed. Use your best judgment.
