4C18 "Welcoming Companions Project" Survey
This survey aims to gauge interest among CCCC members for a welcoming project, pairing convention attendees with volunteers willing to accompany them while travelling to and from CCCC and related activities, including but not limited to the airport, evening social events, and the ATTW (Association of Teachers of Technical Writing) Conference.

The survey and prospective welcoming project are charges of the CCCC Social Justice and Activism Task Force, formed by the 2018 CCCC Program Chair, Asao B. Inoue, in order to implement recommendations made in the NCTE/CCCC Joint Caucus Statement in response to Missouri’s SB 43 and the NAACP travel advisory.

While we understand that such an initiative might be considered by some to be condescending or patronizing to CCCC attendees who might use it, part of our goal with this survey is to assess the needs of the membership.

As you respond to the questions, please keep in mind that we are gauging member needs both for the immediate Kansas City 2018 convention, where we will be piloting this initiative, as well as with an eye toward potential long-term implementation at future conventions.
