The Literary Series at 1900 invites you to submit your writing for a small publication on the theme of Place. Throughout the year we will explore this topic through literature. With this submission form, we are collecting short pieces of writing from people who enjoy our events at the 1900 Building. In Fall of 2025 we will publish a small format collection of writing on Place. All genres of literary creation are invited! We hope you will join the fun and submit reflections on your sense of place. Writing selected for this project may appear in our Poetry of Place chapbook, to be published this fall, or in a digital display at any of our events.
To be included in the 1900 Building's Place chapbook and/or a digital display, kindly submit your own writing below according to these guidelines:
- Submit writing using this form, before 12 PM Central Standard Time on August 1st, 2025
- Submit only material written by you, an attendee of a 1900 Building event.
- Submit up to sixty-four lines and up to 500 words, including title line and all blank lines.
- Submit only unpublished writing.
- Please, do not send submissions by email or other communications.
- By submitting your piece of writing here, you release editorial and reprint rights for it to the 1900 Building.
- Complete all questions or blanks on this form. (Only the "Title" blank is optional.)
Your text may be composed in prose form or in verse. Selected writing will reflect on the sense of place. By submitting your writing, you agree to let the 1900 Building edit and use it for the Poetry of Place display and reprint it later. Thank you!
