Could you give a brief description of your organisation’s work? For example, your overall mission with regards to transparency and accountability, and ways of working such as lobbying the government or campaigning on individual companies?

Can you provide any historical case studies of your organisation using financial data or similar information to successfully advocate for changes to government or corporate policies in your country? Ideally this would be in the extractive sector, but examples from other sectors are fine as well.

Do you think that having data on revenue payments on a project-by-project basis would be useful in your country? If yes, could you indicate why this information would be useful, and how you might use it? For example, are there communities living near specific projects that do not have adequate schools, health centres, other public services or infrastructure who might want to see the data? Perhaps some communities near extraction sites are already campaigning locally for improved services or infrastructure? Are there specific extraction projects in your country that you have concerns about and would like to see the revenue data from? Do you face any difficulties with the current situation of having virtually no data on project-level revenue payments? Which government agencies might you lobby using the data?

Is it important for you to identify the individual company that made the revenue payment to your government? If yes, could you explain why? E.g. Might your organisation ask a specific company to explain a suspect payment, or publicly shame them if they made an illicit payment? Why would it be a problem if you couldn’t trace a payment back to a specific company?

Do you have any further thoughts on how you might use project-level and company-level revenue information to ensure that your country’s citizens benefit from their natural resource wealth?
