I understand that any services provided by 11 Plus Tutoring, Academy (group tuition, online homework resources and mock exams) will not either in full, or in part, provide any guarantee or inference that my child will pass or fail the real 11 plus exam, as the ultimate outcome of the real 11 plus exam is influenced by many factors, including some of the following: (the mix of ages of the children within the cohort / the relative performance of other children within the cohort / the performance of my child on the day).  I understand that if I have not received written confirmation of a place being reserved from 11 Plus Tutoring Academy, my child's place will not be fully reserved, until this has happened . I understand that the online resources and mock exam papers are not written by GL Assessment. I understand that 11 Plus Tutoring Academy's exam papers are designed to practise elements of the possible content and the possible format of the 11 plus exam. I understand that my child may find the course and mock exams challenging.  I understand that the real 11 plus exam is in a paper format.  I understand that 11 Plus Tutoring Academy are not linked in any way to  GL Assessment and cannot know the content nor the exact format of the real 11 plus exam.  I understand that 11 Plus Tutoring Academy will not be able to offer me a replacement tutor, in the event that the tutor leaves or is unable to offer any further tuition. I agree that if my child does not achieve a grammar school place, I will not go to the press or post any negative comments online or in any forum about 11 Plus Tutoring Academy. If I do so, I understand that 11 Plus Tutoring Academy will have the right to take legal action. I agree that I will not publicise, copy or distribute any of 11 Plus Tutoring Academy's materials, syllabus, online resources, mock exam reports.   I agree to confirm in writing to 11 Plus Tutoring Academy whether I or a member of my family, is currently or is deciding whether to become a private tutor.  I agree that I will not show or discuss with another tutor, any of the content or details of our services.  I agree that I will not publicise or use any of 11 Plus Tutoring Academy's materials and intellectual property, other than for my child's own personal use. GROUP TUITION - "WHAT TO EXPECT " Summary The Lessons The course bridges the gap between what is covered at school and what is needed for the  11 + Exam.  It includes a homework review and covers a mixture of 3 areas (NVR, VR/English, Numerical ability). The pace of the lessons is set by the group as a whole  Only pupils are permitted in the classrooms. 100% Dedication! Your child should not miss any tuition sessions, if possible. The impact of missing a lesson  is that your child will miss tuition on a certain subject/s and subsequently they may not be able to complete their homework.  Collecting your Child  Please always be prompt, as your tutor will need to leave promptly after every session to attend the next tuition session. Book Lists We will recommend books which your child should work through outside of the session.  Please note: The course is standalone and does not rely on books as pupils work at different speeds and we do not want to limit the pace at which pupils want to work. However, the books form a vital part of your child's overall preparation.  Homework is a mixture of exercises in the recommended books and our online tests, and is sent by email to the group. All communications for our group course will be to the group, rather than individually due to time constraints.       Online Tests  You can see your child's score for every homework test when your child finishes. They should aim for over 75%.   Your child has access to our online resources on a licence basis (every academic year) until their 11 + exam. Access to resources is on a stage by stage basis, and runs in line with the content of the tuition Our online tests are instantly marked and minimise the marking that needs to be done.  Please note: Your child is allowed 2 attempts for every test. Any further tests required for whatever the reason, will be chargeable.  Your Child's Progress Your child's progress will be given to you at frequent intervals via results from a specified online test. Your child's rank will be shown anonymously and relative to the other pupils who we teach (student ID number only).  Please note: The results of these tests cannot be taken to represent an indication of the final outcome of the real exam, as too many factors are out of our control on the real exam day.  I understand that 11 Plus Tutoring Academy have the right to stop providing tuition to my child at any time. Any unused payments will be credited. Suitability for a Grammar School : we believe in helping all pupils have the opportunity to extend their knowledge ready for the 11 + exam.   Please note: We do not advise on the suitability of pupils for Grammar Schools  Payment for Sessions We require payment in advance for all sessions.   We require you to set up a standing order when you start with us.  Please note: If your child attends part of a lesson, it will be charged at the full rate.      Illness – The Tutor If the tutor is ill, we would have to cancel a session/s, and would aim to offer an alternative group session in the next half term or holiday, as a replacement.  Behaviour  As all pupils have the right to have productive sessions, we cannot tolerate any behaviour which disrupts the efficiency of the class (chatting or disruptive behaviour etc). Your child will be asked to leave the course with immediate effect. You will be told this at the end of the session and this will be put in an email to you.   If your child is asked to leave, we will not offer you a refund for any tuition sessions which have already been taken.   Mock Exams: This is when we start to focus on timings, before then it is content only (group tuition).  We recommend that your child completes the full course as the exams all include different content. The more practise a child has in the exam environment, the more familiar and confident they become.  Minimum Numbers: If for any reason, the group size diminishes to a point when holding it in a venue is not economical for us, we will firstly try and merge the course (if this option is available). If this is not possible (ie, there is not another course to merge with), then we would confirm the current prices of the reduced group. We require all pupils to agree to the new weekly cost.   Unless all parents agree on the new weekly cost (depending on the group size) we would request to hold the course at one of the pupil's houses. Otherwise, we would have no choice but to cease running the course immediately. As this situation would be completely out of our control, we would not offer any recompense for disappointment or any other request. We would very much hope that this would not occur.  Recommendations - As a thank you, if you refer a friend, we would like to say thank you. Once your friend has completed 3 months of group tuition, we would like to offer you 1 free session of group tuition worth £45.  Marking Please note: Parents! We need you to mark the supplementary work which is done in books. The marking you have to do forms a much smaller part than it could do, if none of the homework was completed online!  No Refunds for Sessions which your child has attended We do not offer any refunds at any stage of the course for  sessions taken (e.g. on any occasion, to cover disappointment, our online resources etc).  Health and Safety Notices If another person is to collect your child (other than the nominated person /people) we will require an email in advance of the session. Medication / Illness- We will need to know if your child takes any medication or has any illnesses / allergies. Please ensure that you always have  your mobile phone on at all times for the duration of the class, in the event that we need to reach you. Please ensure that your child goes to the toilet before the lesson starts Pupils will be given a few minutes break, to change the pace of the session.  Change of these terms  We will need to update the information and terms detailed within this document, as things arise and will inform you of this by email.  Parental feedback and any concerns  Any points must be emailed to 11plustutoringacademy@gmail.com  Stopping the course  Your child can stop at any time if it is not right for them. At that moment, you will not be provided with any other access to our homework links or resources. No refunds will be offered.  No Guarantees Unfortunately, we do not give any guarantee that any of our services will result in your child passing the real 11 plus exam, as there are so many factors out of our control:  e.g: The academic strength of the cohort in the real exam The content and topics covered in the real exam How your child performs on the day . A final note on succeeding in the GL 11 plus exam:  It is possible to pass!  The best chance of success is for pupils:  With good all round knowledge in English & Maths,  who retain the information which is taught to them,  work consistently hard now, and throughout the holidays (homework and additional work), who have experienced mock exams and perform well on the day!
