Fostering connection to community and place for youth residents and visitors of Madeline Island through group games, outdoor learning, art, music, gardening, swimming, exploring, and more.

For returners & new registrants:
Welcome to the start of an amazing summer with the Madeline Island Public Library Summer Recreation Program. Whether you are a returner or a new to the program we are excited to have you with us! This year we have hired a full time/year round Recreation Director (Paul Karpinski) to help build and improve the rec program. Please be sure to read all materials thoroughly as some things may have changed since last year.

Category Registration*
This year we are leaning into category registration. As you are registering your child(ren) via this form, you will be asked if you are a Madeline Island Resident, Seasonal Resident, or Greater Community Member

-Year-round Resident = You/your child are year round residents of Madeline island 
-Seasonal Resident = You/your child are less than year round residents, with a home on the island.
-Greater Community Member  = You are not an island resident, or are a resident registering a visiting extended family member.

Registration Timing*
Registration is first come first serve and will open for each category as follows:

Advanced Registration (May 1) - Year-Round Residents

Regular Registration (May 1) - Seasonal Residents + Year Round

Open Registration (15th) - Greater community member + Seasonal + Year-round

We ask while you are filling out the online registration form, please identify the weeks you plan for your child to attend. If there are any days during those weeks which you do not plan for your child to attend, please identify in the additional comments section so we can open those days to those who are on our waiting list. If you are in the later categories, please identify if you would like to be put on our waiting list.

Paying* Once you submit your registration, the number of days your child is enrolled will be calculated, and you will receive an email with the corresponding fee and payment instructions through our PayPal account.

Payments for Advance & Regular registration must be paid in full by May 22nd to secure your registration.

Payments for Open Registration must be paid in full by June 9th to attend. If you are unable pay in full by the required time, please contact recreation@madislandlibrary.org to inquire about our payment plan.
