Bay Area Current | Pitch Form
Welcome to the pitch form for Bay Area Current!

We're looking for things we've never read about before — which is to say a mix of short, medium, and long-form pieces with a local angle, voice-y writing, a sense of place, directness, good characters and more. You can check out our pitch guide for more deets about what we are and aren't looking for.

We have a standard set of rates depending on article length:
  • Short-Form articles (800 words or less): $50 per article
  • Medium-Length articles (800-1,500 words): $100 per article
  • Long-form articles (1,500 words or more): $200 per article
  • Comment (800-1,000 words) op-ed style, more info here: $100 per article
Pitches are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Our editorial team will try to get back to you within one week of submission (though it could take up to two weeks). Time-sensitive pitches will be reviewed as soon as possible.
