The 2024 Rachel Ekizian Change Maker scholarship will be awarded to one youth that submits a proposal for an idea that will make a difference in the greater West Bloomfield community. The recipient of this scholarship will receive up to $1,000 to be used toward their proposed idea. Upon completion of the project, the student must submit a write up with photos to receive the additional $1,000 scholarship that may be used at their discretion.
Application:Students must submit an essay through this google form of 1,000 words or less describing their proposed project in detail. The applicant must include an estimated date of completion of the project as well as a budget showing how the awarded funds of up to $1,000 will be utilized. Any student able to demonstrate need for funding to complete the project will be given additional consideration. An in-person interview may be requested of any applicant prior to selection.
Amount:Up to $1,000 to be used to complete their project and $1,000 post-completion to be used at the student's discretion.
Criteria:- This opportunity is open to any student currently in kindergarten through 11th grade. The student must reside within the West Bloomfield School district or enrolled in the West Bloomfield School district.
- The project must serve the greater West Bloomfield community.
- The student should be able to demonstrate need for funding.
- A budget up to $1,000 must be submitted with the application.
- The recipient will be invited to showcase their project at the 28th Annual Youth Recognition Ceremony, May 1, 2024, at West Bloomfield Middle School at 6pm. This is a dress-up event attended by 250 people.

Applications must be received no later than Tuesday, April 22, 2024, by 11:59 PM.
The scholarship recipient will be determined by the committee and notified by April 24, 2024.
The scholarship will be presented to the recipient during a regularly scheduled West Bloomfield Youth Assistance Meeting.
