Supporting Siblings through Foster Care and Adoption
Children already in a family going through the fostering or adoption journey can sometimes feel overlooked or unprepared for the challenges that go along with welcoming a new brother or sister. Issues related to trauma, grief and loss, differences in parenting approaches, and mental and behavioral health often come up and cause confusion for young people. This workshop explores these challenges as well as strategies for helping siblings adjust successfully and feel like their needs are being met when a child joins the family through adoption or foster care.

Katie Smith, a licensed clinical social worker whose passion over the past 18 years has been serving the unique needs of individuals and families involved in foster care and adoption, will be with us on Sunday, March 17th from 5:15-7:15 PM at Grace Snellville. Childcare provided. 2 CEUs.
