Volunteers needed for the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Conference, Arbor Fair, & Expo
Each year ISA is privileged to partner with a local ISA chapter or associate organization to host the world’s premier gathering of professional arborists, researchers, educators and industry experts at the ISA Annual International Conference and Trade Show. The ISA Southern Chapter will host this year’s conference and trade show in vibrant Knoxville, Tennessee, 11-14 August 2019. As we gear up for the event, the ISA Southern Chapter and ISA headquarters team along with associate organizations and support from Visit Knoxville, the Knoxville Convention Center and participating venues and sponsors are planning valuable professional development sessions and exciting activities. Conference participants will return home with a suitcase full of information and best practices they can apply immediately and connections that may become partners in innovation and life-long friends.

In concert with 2019 ISA Annual International Conference and Trade Show, the International Tree Climbing Championship (ITCC), will be held prior, 9-11 August, in beautiful Lakeshore Park overlooking the Tennessee River. The ITCC convenes elite arborists to compete in a series of challenges that showcase competitors’ skill, technique and athleticism while emphasizing the importance of safe work practices. Competitors and attendees alike network and share trade best practices. The corresponding Arbor Fair held during the ITCC further engages and informs the local community. The ISA Southern Chapter, sponsoring organizations and dedicated volunteers work with ISA staff to create a family-friendly event that brings ISA’s mission to life. Attendees can stop by the “Ask an Arborist” booth for expert advice, find info about the latest equipment from participating sponsors, sample local food truck fare and more. Children can participate in the Kid’s Climb. All are welcome, including pets!

Volunteer jobs with the Arbor Fair & Expo include: site set up and tear down, placing signage, volunteer/vendor check-in, parking attendants, face painting, craft area monitor, fun climb check-in, and supply monitors (help with maintaining supplies and needs for all volunteer positions).

Volunteer jobs with the conference include: ticket taker, registration, directional assistant, badge checker for trade show and education sessions, and monitor/CEU Info at Climber's corner.
