EDIT: Due to popular demand, the deadline to submit your application to TEDSummit 2019 has been extended to Thursday, Wednesday, May 22nd, 2019 at 5 pm EST. Thank you!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
TEDSummit 2019 will take place July 21–25, 2019, but all accepted translators must be available to attend pre-conference activities that will start on July 19.
To help us get to know you better, this TEDSummit 2019 application includes a video component. Every applicant who wishes to be considered for a TED Translator pass must submit a short video of themselves answering the questions below.
1. What makes you an effective TED Translator? How is this personal characteristic beneficial to your language community? To the program as a whole?
2. Tell us your favorite line from a song, poem, book or movie — and translate it for us!
Instructions:
Sit down and think about your responses to the questions above. Film yourself delivering your answers in English. In total, your video submission should be no more than 60 seconds. Longer submissions will not be reviewed. Upload your video to Vimeo or YouTube, and title it like this: “[Your name] TEDSummit 2019 Application". (So, for example: “Jane Smith TEDSummit 2019 Application".)
We encourage you to make your video "unlisted"; this way it will not appear in search results, but those with whom you share your link can view it. To learn more about how to change video privacy settings, check out this YouTube guide:

Thank you, and good luck!
