The Kerlin Science Institute is a credit-bearing professional development program that emphasizes rigorous science content learning using inquiry-oriented approaches. It is a year long program in which teachers begin as science learners during the summer and then, during the school year, examine their own science teaching practice and ways to enhance their students' learning.
As part of this program, teachers may be asked to bring in student work or analyze videos of their own classes. Through this recommendation, you are granting permission for them to engage in this form of self study at your school. Please be reassured that nothing will be collected or used without student and parent permission, as well.
Many thanks for taking the time to support your teacher in their professional growth in the Kerlin Science Institute! Please feel free to reach out to me directly 212.875.4510 or firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions, concerns, or additional information.
