Illinois Arts Council Grant Reader Application

Thank you for your interest in serving as an Illinois Arts Council (IAC) Grant Reader.

The mission of the IAC is to build a strong, creative, and connected Illinois through the arts. Grant Readers contribute to that mission by reviewing applications submitted to IAC for completeness and how they fulfill an established set of review criteria to determine potential funding.

We aim to manage a reader database that represents a broad range of artistic and cultural viewpoints as well as a wide geographic and ethnic diversity. Each Grant Readers commits to a review process consisting of a training webinar, reviewing approximately 60 applications through an online platform, and potentially some follow-up conversations within a four-week period. All Grant Readers are compensated.

Completing this form does not guarantee you will serve as a Grant Reader. IAC Program staff will reach out with additional questions or a request to serve as a Grant Reader.
