Latinitas Future Chica Conference 2020 Volunteer Form
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Future Chica! Girls between 9-18 years old will experience high tech concepts through a combination of demos and hands on activities, engage with professionals from local technology, design and business companies and plant a seed of interest to further explore topics and potentially pursue as a strong interest and career pathway.
WHEN: Saturday, July 18th from 9:00am to 4:00pm
CONFERENCE LOCATION: Oracle, 2300 Cloud Way, Austin, TX 78741
DRESS ATTIRE: Business Casual, however we encourage all volunteers to wear their company shirt

Event assistant volunteers, mentors and lunchtime career presenters will be required to attend an orientation regarding volunteer expectations and responsibilities. Orientation instructions will be sent to the e-mail you provide in this form.
EVENT ASSISTANT ROLES:
Set Up Crew (Friday, July 17th between 5:00 - 8:00pm - May be subject to change)
Setting up general event room, registration tables, participant tables
Placing Latinitas items and signs in designated areas (backdrop for pictures, photo booth materials, equipment)
Registration Team (7:30 am - 10:00 am)
Welcoming attendees and volunteers and directing them to check in area
Help with check in and hand out badges and swag to attendees
Checking in volunteers, handing them name tag, directing them to designated area based on role, walking them
through event space (i.e. volunteer room, main room, bathrooms, lunch space)
Promoting parent workshops, other Latinitas programs, and signing up for our monthly newsletters to parents
*Spanish language speakers strongly encouraged!
Event Runner (Morning assistant from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm & Afternoon assistant from 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm)
Assist with the organization of mentors + career presenters + groups
Managing and organizing laptops + other equipment + supplies + handouts
Writing necessary instructions, log-in and/or wifi info for easy access for participants
Organizing event space and breaking down areas/stations that are not being used
Preparing, passing out, and collecting surveys and/or certificates
Assist with parent workshop
Make sure attendees are not wandering around event space
Assist with tech stations
Assist with setting up lunch
Help with career presenter rotations
Help with clean up
Organize girls and career presenters for group photo.
Clean Up Crew (4:00 pm - 5:00 pm)
Clean up and reorganize event room
Throw away all trash
Collect all event materials and help transfer them to Latinitas staff vehicle
Career Presenters (11:30 am - 1:00 pm)
Meet with participating girls during lunch and share your professional experience and personal journey via informal
roundtable sessions. Presentation materials are NOT required.
Mentor (9:00 am - 4:00 pm)
*You will have an hour break during lunch while the attendees are meeting with Career Presenters*
Make sure your group is engaging in each activity station and using the equipment properly
Your role will be to support and guide your group through the product design phases of brainstorming, creating, and
delivery so that they're prepared to present their idea to a group of judges at the end-of-day showcase
Mentors will oversee groups of 5 - 6. Mentors may oversee a group by themselves or paired with another mentor
depending on the amount of groups we’ll have
