Partnership for Career Development (PCD) Participation Agreement: Career Connections Student Program

This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) serves as a formal agreement between the Partnership for Career Development (PCD) and your organization to participate in the Career Awareness Preparation (CAP) program. The CAP program offers various programs and formats, which are described below. By checking the box below, this indicates your organization's intention to participate in specific programs for the School Year 2023-24.

Attendance and Presenter Responsibility:

  1. My organization acknowledges that participation in the selected program/s is subject to availability and will be confirmed by PCD.
  2. My organization understands that in the event of being unable to attend the program (except in cases of emergency), it is required to notify PCD at least two weeks prior to the scheduled date.
  3. If the scheduled individual from my organization is unable to attend,  we responsible for arranging an alternative presenter to represent the organization during the program. If this is not possible, I will  notify PCD at the earliest possible date.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. Both parties agree to collaborate in good faith to ensure the success of the CAP program.
  2. PCD will provide your organization] with relevant program information, including dates, times, and any necessary materials or resources.
  3. Your organization agrees to comply with the guidelines and instructions provided by PCD throughout the duration of the program.
  4. This MOU does not create any legally binding obligations between the parties, but rather establishes a framework for cooperation and mutual understanding.

Program Format 1:  Career Connections Table Talk Programs
PCD's Career Connections Programs are promoted directly through our participating consortiums of school career awareness and preparation personnel, and all student participants are chaperoned by school support staff.

These programs are generally held at the Capital Area Intermediate Unit (CAIU), 55 Miler St., Enola.  Table Talks provide the opportunity for small group conversations with students using an Information Interview format .  PCD provides students with a list of information interview questions to ask you.  To conclude then session,  students share out group responses to 2-3 questions that summarize their experience and what they have learned.  Either presenters or students rotate every 10-15 minutes, depending on the number of presenters and students.

Program Format 2:  Career Connections Health Sciences Interactive Expo
PCD's Career Connections Programs are promoted directly through our participating consortiums of school career awareness and preparation personnel, and all student participants are chaperoned by school support staff.

This program is held at the Capital Area Intermediate Unit (CAIU), 55 Miler St., Enola.  This Expo is interactive and requires demonstrations on equipment you would use throughout your day and/or activities related to your field. Students will rotate through the expo with a list of information interview-styled questions to ask you as they rotate through the presentations.   To conclude then session,  students share out group responses to 2-3 questions that summarize their experience and what they have learned.

Program Format 3:  Career Connections Tours and Interactive Demonstrations
PCD's Career Connections Programs are promoted directly through our participating consortiums of school career awareness and preparation personnel, and all student participants are chaperoned by school support staff.

These programs take place at your facility and consist of a brief presentation and tour/interactive demonstration.  Student numbers are at your determination based on your capacity. Times for these sessions are generally 9:30am - 12:00pm.  If you are able to provide lunch for the students, they can extend their visit until 1:00/1:30pm.

PCD, in partnership with the Harrisburg Regional Chamber, the Capital Area Intermediate Unit, and the York County Alliance for Learning , are developing a collective impact model: "The Cradle to Career Alliance."

Through participation in the Alliance, you can join over 100 organizations who have committed to assisting with Career Awareness and Preparation in South Central PA.

The Alliance has adopted Career Recognition Weeks, which PCD will be supporting through our programs for participating schools in PCD"s consortiums, as well as other schools, businesses, and organizations.

We welcome your participation in the Alliance and in support of Career Recognition weeks.
