Equipment
All paddles must be USPA approved.
Ball: Franklin X-40 Outdoor.
All matches will be recorded on DUPR.
Pairs will be seeded and grouped by the Organizing Committee using a combination of DUPR ratings and knowledge of individual players to ensure balanced groupings.
Tournament Format
Round 1 – Group Stage (Round Robin)
Groups are formed into 3 or 4 pairs based on number of registrations.
Each group plays a round-robin; top teams in each group will move to Round 2 Elimination Stages.
Matches are to 21 points, rally scoring:
Win by 2, with a cap at 25.
Switch ends when a team reaches 11 points.
Rankings based on:
Win–Loss record
Point differentialSelf-officiated: Server announces score before each serve.
All line calls must be verbal.
Show good sportsmanship—give the benefit of the doubt to your opponent.
Call “hindrance” if play is interfered with.
Warm-up: Strict 2-minute before match starts.
Round 2 – Single Elimination Matches are to 21 points, rally scoring:
Win by 2, capped at 25.
Switch sides at 11.
There may be volunteer linesmen to assist with call disputes in elimination stages. TBD.
Semi-Finals & Finals (Subject to further refinement):
Best-of-3 sets.
Each game to 15 points, rally scoring:
Win by 2, capped at 21.
Switch sides at 8.
