The Department of
Political Science and Public Administration (Faculty of History, Political
Science and International Relations, Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National
University), together with the Chair for Eastern European History at Heinrich
Heine University Düsseldorf (HHU Düsseldorf), invites students to apply for the
international excursion “Moldova: Between Soviet Legacy and European
Integration.”
The excursion will take place from September 21 to September 25, 2026 and will bring together students and lecturers from Moldova, Ukraine and Germany. Over five days, participants will explore how Moldova’s Soviet past continues to shape its political institutions, society, and identity, and how the country is navigating its path toward European Union membership.
The programme includes
• Case studies on Moldova’s post-Soviet transformation and EU accession process
• Comparative sessions linking Moldova’s experience to Ukraine’s past, heritage politics and own European integration path
• Group work, debates, meetings, excursions, and other activities in Chisinau and surroundings
