2023 BAG FACTORY SUMMER SALON SUBMISSION FORM  

The 2023 Open Call for applications for Bag Factory's annual Summer Salon is now OPEN. 

Following on from previous successes of the Bag Factory Artists’ Studios annual Summer Salon, the 2023 edition of the SUMMER SALON looks to provide an opportunity for emerging, mid-career and established artists to showcase and sell their work.

The exhibition will take place at the Bag Factory Artists’ Studios from 28 October  - 17 November 2023.

We are looking for artists who wish to participate in this rigorously curated selection of works by a wide range of established and exciting emerging artists. Submissions are welcome from all practicing contemporary visual artists.

INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS will not be accepted.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: Tuesday, 17 October 2023. at 12:00pm

Successful applicants will be informed by Thursday, 19 October 2023. 

Selected artworks to be delivered by Friday, 20 October 2023.

Artwork requirements:

·        The submitted artwork for the exhibition, except sculptures and those on stretched canvas, *must be framed and exhibition ready by the artist at their own expense.

·       The submitted artwork should be ‘exhibition ready’ for hanging/display i.e. fitted with hanging hooks/string etc.

·        The submitted artwork must be priced under R 30 000 in value (including the Bag Factory’s 35% commission and VAT).

·       Selected by Bag Factory artwork must be delivered by the artist to the Bag Factory by no later than Friday, 20 October 2023.

·       Unsold artworks must be collected by the artist from the Bag Factory by no later than 23 November 2023.

·       Please note, the Bag Factory is not able to cover the costs of delivery and collection.
