2019-2020 UNC Asheville First-Year Parking Waiver
First-year resident students (including incoming freshman transfer students or those with fewer than 30 credit hours) are not permitted to bring cars to campus for the duration of their freshman year (fall through spring semesters). This includes students who have enough credits to be considered sophomores at any time during their first academic year. This policy does not apply to non-traditional freshmen or transfers with at least two semesters at a post secondary institution. "Non-traditional" freshmen are typically students who are 21 years of age or older. Off-campus students are required to apply for a waiver but may be restricted to Freshman parking areas. Only those with housing waivers may receive a parking pass.
Read more about our parking parking policy:
I have read the parking policy and related material before applying for a waiver.
I have read the parking policy. I understand that petitions for a parking waiver are not automatic and are given only when a student has fully presented an acceptable case to the Transportation Office. Waivers will not be processed until proper documentation is received by the Transportation Office. Applications without documentation will be considered incomplete. I, the applicant, are responsible for any and all pending and future parking citations for illegal parking and acknowledge that bringing a vehicle to campus BEFORE being approved for a parking waiver could have a negative effect on my application.
Only FRESHMAN lots are available for this waiver. These lots are not typically outside the Resident Halls. This are outlying lots about 1/4 of a mile from the residence halls. If you need accommodation due to a mobility barrier, you MUST obtain a DMV issued handicap placard.
I understand that this waiver/permit process will only allows access to parking lot P1, P2, P3, P29, P31.
I agree NOT to bring my vehicle to campus until the waiver is approved
I understand that bringing by vehicle to campus before the waiver is approved can have a negative and detrimental influence on my waiver application. Outstanding parking tickets must be paid before a parking pass is issued.
