Thank you for your willingness to participate in this mixer!  The idea is to create opportunities for fostering curiosity around professional applications of linguistics for the next generation of Career Linguists. Your role at the event is to be a resource, sharing your experience, ideas, and responses to the questions posed by career explorers. No need for you to prepare anything formal (just come ready to share), but we will send you a couple things in advance: 1) the questions that we will be distributing to the students, and 2) guidelines for interaction that we will be giving to the students.  These are intended to help structure the event and to provide some clarity on expectations around networking, i.e., that this is not a job fair, that they should NOT ask directly about hiring/being hired, and that you will give (gentle) direct feedback about professional norms a networking contexts.
