FHSD Preschool Program Peer Model Application 
 If you have concerns about your child’s development OR a teacher, therapist, or doctor has expressed concerns about your child, please DO NOT complete this Peer Model application. Instead, please call the Preschool Administrative Assistant, Alysson Beck, at 513-231-3600 extension 2950. 

The FHSD preschool program at Sherwood Elementary School is designed to meet the diverse needs of all students by creating an engaging community of learners ages 3 to 5 years old.  Preschool classes meet Monday through Thursday. AM Session:  8:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. PM Session:  12:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. 

All school districts are required by federal law to provide special education and related services for preschool-age students who are identified with a disability. The Forest Hills Preschool Program integrates preschool students who are typically developing (peer models) with children who have identified needs and require an Individualized Education Program (IEP).

Peer Model Criteria Survey
Peers serve as models of age-appropriate skills for children demonstrating delays in their development.  Therefore, the applicant must consistently answer YES to the criteria set in Questions 1- 5 below in order to be considered a Peer Model for the Forest Hills School District Preschool Program.

Parents of Peer Model students are responsible for providing transportation. 

Once accepted, parents can begin registration procedures. Parents of students who are drawn in the lottery will have one week to complete registration and pay a non-refundable $100 tuition deposit.  Students who are not drawn in the lottery will be placed on a waitlist. 

Peer Model Tuition will be $2,208.00 for the 2024-25 School Year.   The remaining tuition will be paid in four quarterly payments, $527 due August 15, 2024, $527 due October 15, 2024, $527 due December 15, 2024, $527 due February 15, 2025. 

Final teacher placement decisions will be made over the summer and communicated to families via email at the beginning of August 2024.
